Back to the scheduled program

Everything is back to normal from our long Thanksgiving celebration. Mike is back working and so ends the house projects - he was trying to finish up the last minute things that have escaped. The foyer looks gorgeous finally and the house looks done (for the most part) so thankful for his hard work. The kids are back doing their schoolwork and chores - let's just say that didn't go smoothly today! :( I'm working on laundry and Christmas presents. I had such a wonderful time this past couple of days having our family all together - very thankful for each and every day that we spend as a family.

Black Friday adventure

So, today Mike took me out for my first ever Black Friday adventure. We left the house at 6am and after getting a coffee headed to Walmart. As we passed by KMart I was amazed that it was so packed, there were no spaces available in Christiansburg! I've never even seen anyone shop at KMart - until today. We found a space at Walmart though, right up front; it was great! All the Zhu Zhu pets were gone, but we found Marc's present, everything Tracy wanted, and some wonderful specials... I can't wait until the kids see what we found! And the best thing is we stayed in our budget so everything was paid for; so thankful for that. We are now home putting up a fake tree - yes, I said fake! Mike was a little skiddish about the real tree due to the bat last year so we found the best fake one we could and brought it home. Kids are thrilled, but I'm a little disappointed but it was so much quicker and easier. Now to finish decorating everything.

Ready for Christmas!

This week is Thanksgiving and I am looking forward to Mike being with us at least on Thursday, but I am ready to fast forward to Christmas!!! I'm going to finish putting away some Dining Room and kitchen stuff and then get Mike to bring up the Christmas things. Now to find somewhere affordable to find a tree. Mike isn't liking the idea of a real tree b/c last year a bat made a home in our tree and it was quite a surprise when it decided to take a stroll through the house. I'm just glad the kids and I were in PA; I would have flipped! We are home vegging after church - I think I will go finish a few layouts that I've started for the Cocoa Daisy crop.

Thankful - in everything!

I am so thankful for all that we have learned through this experience - We've learned so much about the hospital and how it works - We've learned to give shots - We've learned how to eat healthy - We've learned how to live at the hospital - We've met such neat people - We've learned that even in health issues you listen to your heart and question because everyone is fallible even doctors/hospitals - We've learned that we believe Jesus heals, period, no questions or conditions and we will learn all there is to know in this situation as we eagerly await and expect Vinny's healing - We've learned that things are hard, situations seem insurmountable, but that just means the miracles are even bigger, more far-reaching that we can grasp - But most of all His ways are higher that our ways and His thoughts are higher that our thoughts, but in everything He has plans to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us hope and a future. Amen!

I've been creating...

I have finally been creating again. I'm not quite sure how many months have gone by since I've felt even a little desire to do anything other than occupy the couch. Baby #5 has definitely been taking a toll on me! This weekend I enjoyed playing along at Cocoa Daisy's fall crop and I've been creating up a storm. I also just received a kit for the first time in awhile also which I had to try also. It feels nice to feel somewhat alive again! I have so much to update on here but that will have to wait b/c the kids schoolwork is calling and so is the laundry. So for now, bye
