Dream Big

I made this canvas when I was challenged by Scarlet Lime to create something based on my mother. I thought a lot about this, I looked through my photos (I had none of my mother and myself alone) and I pondered what lessons I had been taught by my mother. Then I realized that the biggest reason I am on the road to destiny is because of my mother. She instilled in me from a very early age the need to Dream Big. If it wasn't for my mom I wouldn't believe that anything is possible and that I can accomplish the impossible because I know where my strength comes from. My mom taught me that my strength comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and by the age of 3 I had taken her lessons to heart and made the Lord mine and then I began to dream. Each year my dreams get bigger and bigger and I believe more and more in the impossible. And you know, it is totally worth it. Things have been hard lately and there are moments when I would like to turn of this Road to Destiny, but I can't. I can't give up on the biggest lesson my mom taught me ... to DREAM BIG.

Check this out!

http://www.scrapbookcircle.com/2011/05/lifting-you-wendy-2/ I was featured at Scrapbook Circle today - come check it out. Thanks SC.

Finishing up loose ends

So today I figured I would tie up all the loose ends that were dangling in my scrapbook room along with our normal Monday laundry. So far I only have 2 more to put finishing touches on and then I'm done until after our visitors.
Here is one I made for a challenge at Scrapbook Circle to use this paper by Crate and since they mentioned schedule instantly I thought of documenting a day in our life.

The next layout I completed was for a challenge at Scarlet Lime to document Mother's Day - so I did a layout on lessons I learned from my mom. I had planned on using pictures of my mother, but I didn't have any of just us so I instead made it a layout to my daughter with everything that I have gathered over the years from my mom.

34 Today

Today I am 34! I had to figure out how old I was before I could type this, but anyway that's just part of growing older. :) It's hard to believe that I have this is my life now, who would have ever guessed, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! I'm looking forward to my day - we are off to church now.

Taking time to rest

"The world never stops rushing you...Don't let others set your agenda. Find your own pace. Slow down. Do less. Listen. Savor. Simplify. Feed your soul. Remove distractions. Create a sanctuary within. Live in grace. The greatest gift you have to give others is you...unhurried and refreshed. Drink deeply from the well of your own life. It passes like a dream."
For Every Mother, by: Janene Woolsey Baadsgaard
I just read this in a blog that I read and it really spoke to me - see I've decided that on Fridays aside from the totally necessary things that I am taking off! For me that is a big thing because I thrive on schedules and accomplishing things, but I am tired. So after doing spelling tests for the week I scrapped and now it is naptime for everyone so I will go rest some more - it is time to enjoy this moment in my life even if it is more than I can handle sometimes. I'll leave you with this layout of my little one resting...

NSD layout

I created this for NSD at Citrus Tree Studio - the challenge was to use a mask and mist. I love playing with my mists, whether with a mask or just spritzing a little on my page, it adds such a nice touch. I love how this flourish mask (Tattered Angel) looks like waves. The papers and stickers are from my April Scrapbook Circle kit. It has been so nice and warm here lately - we've been spending a lot of time outside so I have some great pictures to scrap again, what a relief my stack had gotten a little low. Unfortunately, I haven't been getting much time to scrap this week as Vinny was sick, he is much better now, but I think Marc has a touch of it now. I'm just so very grateful that we've all been pretty well ever since Gino was born. I managed to finish cleaning today and the laundry is all done so I am planning a weekend of scrapping with Cocoa Daisies spring crop - can't wait; they always have great inspiration. Come join us if you need some fun http://www.cocoadaisy.com/forum/ . Well it is nap time so let me get the rest of the kids to bed so that I can get recharged for the 2nd part of the day!

New Year's Resolution - accomplished!

I have actually accomplished one of my New Year's Resolutions - I was accepted to Citrus Tree Studio's design team for June - September, I am thrilled! I've put in quite a few applications over the past few months so finally to have met success is so cool. You will have to stop over and check out the site - they have challenges each month based on sketches, colors, techniques, ad inspiration and designer challenge. The forum is super easy to get around in and always has some activity going on. I have to get a blinkie tomorrow after I finish springing up my blog - having a few difficulities right now with it as you might have noticed. :(
I will leave you with this layout that I created for a challenge at Citrus Tree to use water/liquid on a layout - I used my new gelattos (love them) with some water for a watercolor effect and some glimmer mists.
