Mini Albums

are not my thing.  Yes, I can create them and yes I do, but they just don't flow real well for me.  When I received my team-up supplies from Basically Bare there was a mini album that really called my name, so I gave it a shot.  I also received a package of dress forms and with the release of Bella's new collection, Kiss Me these combined to form my album - My Favorites.

I'm quite pleased how my album turned out and now I just need to find some time to sit down and write my thoughts/favorites on the tags that I enclosed in each of the envelopes!  I'll see you Saturday with one more project I completed for Bella's Team-Up with Basically Bare.

Trendy Challenge at Memorable Seasons

My challenge at Memorable Seasons is this, be trendy!  I have played with most trends and enjoy trying new things, but I hadn't tried the Polaroid frames, speech bubbles, or the cut-out words.  When I received my November Memorable Seasons kit with Pink Paislee's Portfolio I added in the Studio Calico speech bubbles and frames for a little pop of something and the Heidi Swapp Memory File Foto Captions because I love her writing - what fun that turned out to be!  Here are a few of the layouts I created using these trends...

Thanks for stopping by, see you later!

Time to countdown for Christmas!

With little ones in the house and a Christmas tree up and decorated the question every day is ... when is Christmas? So this year when I was sent the large wreath base from Wall Sugar I decided it was time to make an advent calender!

Wreath Base - Large
I began by choosing my favorite Bella Paper to cover the base of my wreath and I dry brushed some white paint around the edges.

I then had purchased some paper mache circle boxes (mine were 2" which were a little large to fit, 1.5" would probably work better, and you can also use the plastic bead containers) which I covered with some Bella designer tapes.

I then covered each lid with a 2" circle of Bella papers and finished with a white scalloped punch where I used a stamp for the border and numbered all the boxes.  Then I began placing my boxes around my wreath (this took awhile) in a configuration that fit - I had planned to just circle around with the boxes, but a snowflake emerged instead!  LOL

Then because I totally love my hot glue gun, I grabbed a few Christmas items that I have in my box and began adding some special last minute touches, I decided to stick with the snowflake theme and then add a few pops of red.

And here is my final project that I just need to fill up with treats for my kids!

Thanks for stopping by and thank you Wall Sugar for a great product to create with!

It has been too long!

I go through spurts where I am really good at keeping my blog up and then other times it gets a little dusty!  So sorry about that, totally have to think of a way to fit this in my schedule.  Lately I have been totally swamped with all the holiday projects that I needed to get done, but I am finally getting ahead again so the pressure is off.

So what all has been going on in my scrappy life?  Well Memorable Seasons just finished up a DT call and I am getting the first hand knowledge of how you sort through everything!  YIKES!  We also have a Black Friday crop at Memorable Seasons this weekend if you'd like to join us.  This month I got to work with Pink Paislee's Portfolio and wow, totally love that line!  I added in some SC Polaroid frames and speech bubbles and HS memory file items - that totally made the kit pop.

Here is one of the layouts I completed for MOTM - this was a direct design lift from a wonderful member Susan,

Here are a few cards I also made using the Portfolio collection,

So I don't want to overload you all in one day, but I promise I am scheduling a few more so make sure you stop back by and check!

Christmas projects with LYB

I was thrilled to be invited to create with Little Yellow Bicycle for their Once Upon a Christmas team.  When I got my box of goodies I knew that I wanted to create one main project, a Christmas house.  The colors of this line are so classical and rich it seemed like the perfect time to alter a paper mache house I had bought from Michael's.  Then I created a tree because I loved the greens so much.  When I put the two item together on my table I knew that they needed to be put together and so my Christmas Village was born!

I loved the hanging wreaths on this paper and the frame was perfect to nestle the picture of my kids underneath the tree.  I used some of the great chipboard and clear cuts to dress up the design.  The vellum tapes are wonderful and loved the splash of color they added.

And my last layout was created from the Vintage band paper, I knew I wanted to use the strip with the kids and highlight our kids and I wanted to tie in our Christmas tree.  With the addition of some chipboard pieces, journaling pieces, clear cuts and a few border punches the perfect layout to showcase our Christmas was born.

Thanks so much Little Yellow Bicycle for the opportunity to cycle with you, it was an honor!
