Springtime

I saw this challenge at the Twinery to use some of their twine and create something inspired by polka dots.  I instantly thought of lollipops, especially since our younger sons love them.  So I made a few "lollipops" which then needed a jar and because the twine colors I used were so springy I just had to add in some grass and a little chick.

I love using the Twinery's stuff, the twine is nice and thick, but still thin enough to manipulate whichever way you want and the colors are totally amazing, thanks to Paper Issues I got hooked awhile ago to this brand!

I am hooked ...

on embossing that is!  I have made another few layouts and I have managed to find a way to add embossing on each one of them.  Hubby took me on a day trip this past Saturday to Hobby Lobby so I was able to pick up a few more containers of Zing!

So, here is a layout I created using a sketch from Studio Calico and my Big Screen kit...

I embossed the wood veneers and then I thought I should try embossing the AC DIY Thickers, it was a huge mess, so probably something I wouldn't try again, but I got the texture and color I was looking for.

This next layout again had embossing on the wood veneer stars, it was also my entry for the challenge at Memorable Seasons to "Live on the Edge", I also used another sketch from Studio Calico and my Big Screen kit which is almost totally gone ...

I found quite a few layouts that I haven't shared yet here on my blog so I will be back again really soon!

Have you embossed lately???

I sure hadn't, I used to use the Fiskar rubbing plates (that are in the basement now) and I have quite a few embossing powders, but I haven't touched anything lately.  Until...

Jennie issued our second Last Scrapper Standing challenge and it called us to emboss, now I am totally hooked!

I pulled out some of my embossing folders and used one as a mat for my photo, I used black Zing powder for my word dream, and I used silver Zing for my tag and I embossed my SC wood veneers!  LOL, what total fun!!!  I was also excited to use my first kit from Studio Calico, Big Screen.  I used to always create with mixed up kits, and then when I joined the DT at Memorable Seasons I gradually made a switch to using mostly one manufacture at a time.  I loved that for awhile, but I am ready to shake things up so I purchased a kit and went for it!  I also used a challenge from SC to embellish/journal over your photo - this for me isn't anything new, so it was an easy challenge to start with.

I was also up at Bella the other day with a Baby photo holder

No we don't know it is a girl, but here's to hoping!  I did add in a blue pooh bear just in case, lol!

More Sketch Inspiration

Here are two more layouts I created for using CK sketches, I was thrilled how they turned out!

I documented our little Gino's first haircut with this sketch, some Bella goodies and a little vellum bag that I sewed shut to keep his curly locks in.

And this is unheard of from me, a double pager, and I love how it turned out!  I used a touch of Pebbles, Simple Stories and then my Lily Bee goodies to document a stop at our beach for my birthday last year.

Thanks for stopping by I hope to be back soon with a few more things I haven't shown yet!

Sketches

I don't usually play along with sketch challenges because I tend to do my own thing, but lately with the baby brain going on I've needed some design help to get my mojo flowing, lol!

So here is a layout that I created using some Pebbles Seen & Noted collection and some Studio Calico goodies and this sketch by Page Maps...

I chose to rotate the sketch 90* and I replaced the flower paper with three different pieces, but I love how it turned out...

Here is another page I created using Bella goodies and a sketch for Scrapbook & Cards Today...

I have a few more to share, but we will save those for another day!  See you then...

Valentine's Decor projects

I wanted to create a few projects for around the house for Valentine's so I began looking around for some inspiration.  My first piece I decided on was the Subway Art piece that I downloaded from the Silhouette site.  I chose to turn my canvas around to give a shadow box feel because I love the feel of banners and wanted to create some to drape around the art piece.

Subway Art Supplies
Sophisticates:  Punch
Kiss Me:  Bouquet Kisses, Love Notes, Alpha+Bits
Designer Tape:  Teal Stripe
I then began to make some roses for a topiary; for this topiary using a 5" Styrofoam ball I used 9 sheets of paper and cut my flowers out at 2 1/2" each I used hot glue to hold each flower quickly and easily.

Topiary Supplies
Sophisticates:  Punch, Ice
Lovey Dovey:  Love is in the Air
Kiss Me:  Bouquet Kisses, Love Notes, Borders
Birthday Girl:  Dancing Queen
Ciao Chip:  Clouds
My final piece of decor was a candy jar to hold my favorite treat - m&m's!  I knew I wanted to use the cute mustache and lips from the Kiss Me collection and pinwheels are always fun touches.  With the addition of a doily and a few pieces from the various Bella collection we have an adorable candy jar that I might decide to share with my kids - not quite sure about that one yet!

Candy Jar Supplies
Kiss Me:  Love Notes, Borders & Cute Cuts, Alpha+Bits
Ciao Chip: Stars & Hearts
Crochet Flowers:  Juniper
Button Market:  Hot Pink Flowers

Make sure you stop by the Bella Blvd blog to see some other great Valentine projects!

Last Scrapper Standing contest

It is time again for Memorable Season's fabulous contest, Last Scrapper Standing!  Our first challenge was just issued and you have until Wednesday, February 13th to complete this challenge if you so desire.

The first challenge is hearts, how appropriate with Valentine's Day just a few days away.  I got carried away and created a few things using my Pink Paislee Secret Crush and here they are...

I made a layout with this same title a few years ago when we only had 4 kids, I guess next year I will need to make yet another one of these!  LOL

I think this is my favorite layout I created with this line, I love the misting, white doodles, layering and most of all the picture of my son with my hubby.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will join us for our Last Scrapper Standing contest.

Sketches with Love

As Valentine's Day draws near I had the opportunity to work with Pink Paislee's Secret Crush - it is a lovely line and has been so much fun to create with!

My first challenge that I offered up at Memorable Seasons was a sketch challenge.  I created this sketch...
and this is the layout I created using my sketch...

Even though this is a Valentine's line, it was the perfect collection to document my daughter's 10th birthday.

I also created a few cards to give for Valentine's using the Krispy Kreme donut coupons we were given...

I have quite a few more things that I created with this line to show you next week, see you then!
