Hope you have enjoyed this collection of Simple Stories, it was a lot of fun to work with and the colors were my favorites!

Now on to some Christmasy stuff!

Making some stew!

This is our last week of our Throwdown competition - it has been so much fun creating with all the different recipes! This last recipe I picked is not a glamorous one, but it sure tastes good in the winter.

We are making stew this week!

All stew recipes are made up of 3 parts:
1. Something recycled - usually I throw some leftover meat in the pot when I am making stew and because everything is mixed together you never know!
2. Shapes - There are a lot of shapes in a stew pot, rectangles from the meat, round potato pieces, cylinders with celery, and the list goes on...
3. Layers - stew turns out differently each time because I am always adding different items in, whatever I have, but in turn the taste varies somewhat each time.

I created this layout with a bag from this cool sandwich shop (recycled), I have potatoes and onions (circles and pieces of circles), and I have many layers of flavors with my different patterned papers layered on top of each other affecting the flavor, but not the main feature.

Hope you come on over to Memorable Seasons to join in, we'd love to see what you can make out of stew!

Creating cards based on dessert!

Today I am stopping by with a dessert challenge that I issued at Memorable Seasons for our Throwdown Contest!  I decided not to give you an appetizer challenge, but instead a dessert challenge.  We are a very structured family, that runs on a tight schedule, but there is one rule I love to break, I love to eat my dessert first!  So, my challenge for you is to make my favorite dessert!

I love Angel Food Cake!!!!! It is so fluffy and light. I love to eat Angel Food cake alone, iced and decorated as my grandmom used to do for me every year, I love to eat it layered in a truffle with fruit, I just love Angel Food cake. So my challenge is to design a card based on the light and fluffy dessert. You may have plain cake, iced cake, layered cake, fruit with your cake, whatever you decide, but show me some fluffiness!

I made this card using some American Craft stash and a doily. My doily reminds me of my angel food cake, round, white, frilly and delicate and totally light. I used some flowered paper b/c my Grandmom made lovely icing flowers and a pretty pink pinwheel to help establish the light and airy feeling!

I also created this card using some Pebbles. Again you will find my doily, but this is a layered card because I do love layering my cake with pudding, cool whip, and fruit!

So have fun creating a card using my favorite dessert, Angel Food Cake!  Don't forget to visit the forum and join us and see what every one creates for this challenge!

Celebrating the 4th of July with Bella Blvd

Star Wreath
I was waiting for the perfect time to make some 3D stars, using my Cameo they were very easy to cut and fold (I cut 36).  I used my trusty glue gun to glue the different stars around my circular frame which I painted white.  We've just recently moved to a beach area, so my hubby thinks everything in our house should be beachy, so I added in a few shells, but gold hearts/stars would also look great!  I strung the word America on twine that covered some thin wire I have, this gives my word stability and also allows me to bend my word to fit what I envisioned.

Supply List:
All American:  American Pride, United We Stand, July Sky, Seeing Stars
Ciao Chip Everyday Elements:  All American Icons

American Decor
I love canning jars that hold little scenes, they are so much fun to make and now with an abundance of shells and sand I can make these all the time!  I started by decorating my jar with some stickers, chipboard, and other pieces that I fussy cut from the papers.  I then strung my banner of stickers across some twine and tied it onto these little sticks I just found at our grocery store (aren't they cute?).  I couldn't resist trying out a few feathers in red and blue and then completing my project with a pinwheel.

Supply List:
Flags:  All American Words, All American Icons
Button Market:  assorted
Feathers:  Surf N Turf, McIntosh
All American:  Seeing Stars, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Alpha+Bits

Here's one more that I made when the American Collection was first introduced at Bella Blvd
