Health, fun, love

Sometimes you see something that just speaks to you and that is what this picture did that I found on FB.  The first 3 words that jumped out at me were health, fun, and love and this just really hit home because this is definitely what we need this year.

I saw a challenge at 2Peas to share some advice and I had this great idea to tie in some handwriting that I was playing with and this challenge.  While I am sharing my journaling, it really isn't meant for everyone to read so I covered it up with my words, ink, doodles and other items - there, but hidden.

To be Loved by YOU

This is a little different from my normal design, but I really love how it turned out.  I made this layout from the fall Scrapbook & Cards Today kit.  I have been so impressed with these kits, there is a ton of product, lovely embellishments, and the magazine is included and it is really a nice quality!  I also purchased the winter kit and now I am waiting (not so patiently) for the spring kit!

Life is Good 2013 - Teresa Collins

The next layout I made from the Frosted Design clean kit was just to see if the Teresa Collins papers would work on the American Crafts grid paper included in the clean fun - I really wasn't sure, but I LOVE the page that resulted!

some details...

Heartbreaking Day - Teresa Collins

I loved the rustic feel of this wood paper that was included in the Frosted Designs clean kit and yet I sometimes struggle with these type papers.  This page actually came together in just a few minutes by placing the arrow paper on the darker background paper!  I knew I wanted to include the chevron piece to show movement as does the arrow paper as having a young child with diabetes is a constant adjustment to meds and what can be eaten.  The canvas heart was perfect to document how my heart felt that day that our son ended up back in the hospital holding onto his daddy's hand and his Mr. Bear for comfort.  This was a difficult time for me and I really felt like my heart was breaking because I wasn't able to be there as we have 5 others and our youngest needed me at home with him.  The overall layout had a brown feel to it, which while very masculine, was also drab, but by adding in a few pops of red I was able to take the layout from drab to wow in just minutes.

Here are some close-ups of the details...

Weeks 20 & 21

Week 20 and Simple Stories

Week 21 love those Chic Tags gold rub-ons!

I have made it almost halfway through the year and I am thrilled!  I really do love PL and only using one page per week (except for a few big weeks such as Christmas) is keeping this project manageable for me.  I am really glad that I started PL in August because I couldn't imagine with all of the holiday stuff trying to finish up an album for 2013 and starting one for 2014.  If you haven't tried PL yet, it really is fun to look back at the year and you take so many more pictures that really are apart of your life although maybe not important enough to actually earn a whole page.

You Melt my Heart - Elle's Studio

Some of these things are not like the others, can you see what?  :P

Thank goodness we caught this before we had a huge mess!

I felt the layout needed something on the left side so I tried a notebook border, but I'm not sure that was it either, which do you like better?

This was created for Elle's Studio Sketchy Thursday challenge.

You are my Happy - Scraptastic

You are my Happy

I created this layout using the Scraptastic kit, Breathe and a sketch from Page Maps.  I was amazed at how crooked my patterned paper was when I uploaded this, I am not much one for a ruler, oh well!  :)  We are again enjoying much of the same; beach with Uncle Mario in January, this totally is weird!

It's sneak time - Lucky Starz

And last but not least...
You won’t need luck when you have these in your stash! Lucky Starz are the perfect combination of magical colors and coordinating patterns for each day of the week. Keep it monochromatic or mix it up with the playful stripes, hashtags and hearts. Lucky Starz is sure to show up in just about every project from here on out!

Here are a few of my favorites from this collection...

I AM - Teresa Collins and Scraptastic Kit

I don't make resolutions, but I am very much a goal oriented person - I like my checklist for the day/week/month/year!  Here are my goals for 2014, unfortunately none of them are concrete goals which makes it hard for me to realize that I have accomplished things and hence the don't forget, AMAZING!  I can get bogged down in the everyday mundane mommy life and forget that I do have a purpose and I am worth time and effort on my part and my families.

I adore the scribbled paper by AC, but this striped paper was more of what I was looking for, so I grabbed my knife and cut the squiggles out!  Yep, that is all fussy cutting work, lol!  I really do have things that need to get done, but I tried my hand at the scribbles and failed terribly and I really wanted the messy free flowing look, so a girls got to do what a girls got to do!

Even though I like to organize my life (line things up), my life with 6 kids is quite messy (scribbles), and I often dream of flying away amidst the clouds and stars.  I love gold and glittery and these rub-ons by Chic Tags are perfect!

Thomas Christmas 2012 - Elle's Studio

I played along with Elle's Studio Sketchy Thursday this week using the winter kit from Scrapbook & Cards Today.  I have a few missing layouts from the albums from 2012 which I am working on catching up on.  Here is Vinny's Christmas 2012, he was so pudgy and little then, he has really grown up the past year and I miss this face!

I couldn't quite grasp the stars so I used circles in various sizes and a few other tags and then used a loose grid.  I had meant to add a little behind the picture, but totally forgot after I printed the pic.  Oh well, I am pleased with the look and it came together in less than an hour which is huge for me!

It's sneak time - Molly

Today Bella is sharing their
collection

Molly might be boy crazy and obsessed with text messaging her friends, but deep down inside she wears an invisible crown & loves to sparkle & shine. She’s a tween, full of spunk and flair, obsessed with taking selfies & dancing all night with her girlfriends to her favorite playlist. Stay cool this winter with Molly from Bella Blvd.

I really love these pieces!

How about you?  Would you like to
make sure you stop by the Bella Blog today for a chance to win!

LOVE - Teresa Collins

I was so excited to receive the kit for this month from Frosted Design as I had been eyeing up the Teresa Collins papers from the You are My Happy collection for awhile now.  Even though the papers might look girly I created 2 pages about my boys and then two pages about us!

The first page I am sharing with you today began with the Amy Tangerine piece - I loved the cutout letters, but the paper was so plain and I sure didn't want to cover the letters up, so...  I grabbed my double sided tape and the glitter that was included in the kit and added some pizzaz to my background that wouldn't detract from the picture of our newest.

I used a Studio Calico chevron mask to get the placement of my lines.

This stuff really covers very nicely and it doesn't come off either!

Just a little bit of pizzazz without adding too much!

Here are some close-ups of the other details in my layout...

It is sneak time - Max!

Can you believe it is already time for companies to roll out their new collections?  I am still trying to work through collections from the summer CHA that I had to have!

Bella Blvd is introducing their
 collection today
Max is seriously cool. He’s too old for toys, but totally interested in his new guitar and creating the perfect playlist to jam to. Instead of focusing on his homework Max dreams of being a rock star, going hunting with his friends someday, & even beginning high school with all the pretty girls. Chill out with Max from Bella Blvd.

 I really love this piece!
Stop by the Bella blog today to win it before you can buy it!

Things that make me Happy - Teresa Collins

Okay, I am totally in love with this layout!!!  I created this using leftover pieces from a Guest Design spot that you will have to stop back by on Wednesday to see and the Scraptastic kit, Breathe (it is sold out but the add-on is still available).

I made this to continue documenting who I am each month as challenged by Corrie Jones.  I am loving root beer from Subway, my weight, and my cute little elf!

See you tomorrow with some collection peaks from CHA!
