Christmas Home Decor - Pebbles, Teresa Collins, Elle's Studio
This was a combination of everything in my stash! I don't often do that, but I went looking for the right touches this time and really had to dig.
Thanks again go to Tanya Butler who sent me the lovely colorful doilies which I love using!
I considered printing out a bigger picture, but I really wanted some of the wood card from Elle's Studio to show so I skipped that idea.
Don't you love the bow tie on the reindeer?

Tracy's Dance Recital Project Life page - Teresa Collins
Sometimes an event is so important that it needs its own stand alone page which brings me to today's page. This was a quick documentation of Tracy's 2014 dance recital. I will make a page later, but I wanted to capture the feelings of accomplishment right away before we forgot.
I used sparkly Heidi Swapp stickers for some bling. And I added in a pocket filled with mica chips for a sparkly dreamy effect. The picture wasn't the best, but seemed so ballet-ish that I wanted to portray what I felt when I looked at my daughter dancing.

Unbreakable Bond - Teresa Collins
I used a sketch from Creative Scrappers for this layout using the new Teresa Collins collection.
I'm not a huge fan of using sketches as I love the freedom of just creating. But sometimes I have already laid out my pictures and picked my papers and I go looking for that something that I am missing. For me that something was the circle from the sketch. I chose to sew my circle so that it was only a subtle hint to my story. I then found some cut words which furthered my page about the bond between these brothers.
Today I am up on the Pebbles blog with yet another layout about one of my boys (with 5 boys, I've got plenty of material, lol)! I'd love for you to stop by and let me know what you think of that layout. Here's a peak...
Also, I have a box of goodies for someone with a US address, if you would like to win a box of Pebbles please follow me on my new instagram account and leave me a comment with your e-mail so that I can contact the winner.
See you tomorrow with some brand new Simple Stories!

Week 37- Teresa Collins
Week 37, everyday moments - school, family time, noc-to-logy as my son likes to call it!
some details...
embossing and stamping
On my next card I wanted some shiny stars to show off my son's schoolwork. I used molding paste with some gold paint mixed together and a Heidi Swapp stencil. Once I removed the stencil I poured some glitter on the stars to really make them pop!
Some love around those fat little fingers!
I wanted a little more glitter on my page and I wanted this card to really stand out. I used stickles on the words, tied some twine with a tag and add a cut from my cameo.
Thanks for joining me in a look at my week!

Weeks 36 and 39, and a year in review - Teresa Collins
Pocket pages, Project Life, Documenting Life no matter what you choose to call it I have decided I am hooked! I started PL in August when our 6th child was born. I decided to keep my spreads to one page so that I wouldn't become overwhelmed finding material to document. Sometimes I choose to do 2 page spreads such as my pages documenting Easter that you all saw on NSD. I really appreciated all the comments you left about that spread you really gave me confidence in my PL skills!
I also wondered when I started PL if it would take away from my scrapping time (precious as that is), but what I've found is it allows me to get all the moments documented and then I have plenty of time to just have fun when I layout scrap. I don't have to scrap everything now because it is already documented and so my layouts have become more about emotions/thoughts then actual events which gives me more freedom!
So here are some new pages using Teresa Collins products and We R Memory Keepers album pages.
My next pages document my year at 36, life has been pretty crazy over the past year and I wanted to get everything down that influenced me this year before I turn 37.
REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION
and some detail shots...
I wanted to add some catchy bling to my layout so...
1. I grabbed a Crate Paper frame, gold glitter, and xyron double sided tape from my Teresa Collins adhesive kit.
2. Line the frame with the double sided tape.
3. Sprinkle glitter.
4. Be amazed at your sparkly brainstorm, lol!
Here is a look at this past week, week 39 for me...
and the details...
Modeling paste makes for a great title piece with little dimension. My "stencil" came from fussy cutting the word from one of the 3x4 cards.
And how about some "sand"? I created a pocket using the packaging from the Daily Stories package. I poured sequins into the pouch and then sewed the sides a little closer in to fit on my picture.
I really enjoyed thinking out of the box on my pages and just having fun documenting our life. It is important to me to get the daily days down in our books because life is just going to fast. As a SAHM and homeschooler sometimes I can get buried in the grind of daily life, but I realize how blessed I am when I take some time to really look at all the good that occurs each week in our lives.
And to leave you with a layout that kind of just fell together with the pieces that were on my desk...
I'm not sure if it will be the preceding page for week 39 or go into Rocky's book, but either way I couldn't resist using the rest of my pictures that I had printed.

SAHM - Teresa Collins
Every month I join with Corrie Jones and others to document themselves for the month. Thanks to Corrie's inspiration I started this project in September right after our 6th was born and have documented the ups and down since then. While I just put this together, the thoughts (which are hidden on the back) are what were with me for the month of March. I titled this SAHM because I was struggling with my worth; I don't just want to be a SAHM and I'm not. I am so much more.
This quote I found really sums up March for me, "Sometimes you do not feel the weight of something you have been carrying until you feel the weight of its release." I am praying April is a MUCH different month for me!

Life is Good 2013 - Teresa Collins
The next layout I made from the Frosted Design clean kit was just to see if the Teresa Collins papers would work on the American Crafts grid paper included in the clean fun - I really wasn't sure, but I LOVE the page that resulted!

Heartbreaking Day - Teresa Collins
I loved the rustic feel of this wood paper that was included in the Frosted Designs clean kit and yet I sometimes struggle with these type papers. This page actually came together in just a few minutes by placing the arrow paper on the darker background paper! I knew I wanted to include the chevron piece to show movement as does the arrow paper as having a young child with diabetes is a constant adjustment to meds and what can be eaten. The canvas heart was perfect to document how my heart felt that day that our son ended up back in the hospital holding onto his daddy's hand and his Mr. Bear for comfort. This was a difficult time for me and I really felt like my heart was breaking because I wasn't able to be there as we have 5 others and our youngest needed me at home with him. The overall layout had a brown feel to it, which while very masculine, was also drab, but by adding in a few pops of red I was able to take the layout from drab to wow in just minutes.
Here are some close-ups of the details...

You are my Happy - Scraptastic
You are my Happy
I created this layout using the Scraptastic kit, Breathe and a sketch from Page Maps. I was amazed at how crooked my patterned paper was when I uploaded this, I am not much one for a ruler, oh well! :) We are again enjoying much of the same; beach with Uncle Mario in January, this totally is weird!

I AM - Teresa Collins and Scraptastic Kit
I don't make resolutions, but I am very much a goal oriented person - I like my checklist for the day/week/month/year! Here are my goals for 2014, unfortunately none of them are concrete goals which makes it hard for me to realize that I have accomplished things and hence the don't forget, AMAZING! I can get bogged down in the everyday mundane mommy life and forget that I do have a purpose and I am worth time and effort on my part and my families.
I adore the scribbled paper by AC, but this striped paper was more of what I was looking for, so I grabbed my knife and cut the squiggles out! Yep, that is all fussy cutting work, lol! I really do have things that need to get done, but I tried my hand at the scribbles and failed terribly and I really wanted the messy free flowing look, so a girls got to do what a girls got to do!
Even though I like to organize my life (line things up), my life with 6 kids is quite messy (scribbles), and I often dream of flying away amidst the clouds and stars. I love gold and glittery and these rub-ons by Chic Tags are perfect!

LOVE - Teresa Collins
I was so excited to receive the kit for this month from Frosted Design as I had been eyeing up the Teresa Collins papers from the You are My Happy collection for awhile now. Even though the papers might look girly I created 2 pages about my boys and then two pages about us!
The first page I am sharing with you today began with the Amy Tangerine piece - I loved the cutout letters, but the paper was so plain and I sure didn't want to cover the letters up, so... I grabbed my double sided tape and the glitter that was included in the kit and added some pizzaz to my background that wouldn't detract from the picture of our newest.
I used a Studio Calico chevron mask to get the placement of my lines.
This stuff really covers very nicely and it doesn't come off either!
Just a little bit of pizzazz without adding too much!
Here are some close-ups of the other details in my layout...

Things that make me Happy - Teresa Collins
Okay, I am totally in love with this layout!!! I created this using leftover pieces from a Guest Design spot that you will have to stop back by on Wednesday to see and the Scraptastic kit, Breathe (it is sold out but the add-on is still available).
I made this to continue documenting who I am each month as challenged by Corrie Jones. I am loving root beer from Subway, my weight, and my cute little elf!
See you tomorrow with some collection peaks from CHA!
