Beautiful Today - Hip Kit Club

I was on the Hip Kit Club blog this past Friday sharing this layout,

8.5x11

OR
12x12

I have seen so many scrappers turning to 8.5x11 so I decided to give it a try.  It is a lot less paper to fill and I'm not sure what I think about the size.  What do you think?

You can see more details here.

Disney Magic - Cocoa Daisy and Crate Paper

I used some leftovers from the September Cocoa Daisy kit and combined it with the newest kit of Crate Paper goodies to create this...

These pictures were all about the story of what happened so I chose book titles and different pieces that encorporated my story theme

Have a magical day!

Free Your Smile - Cocoa Daisy kit

I HAD to have the stamp set included in this kit and so I finally gave in and bought the kit.  My kit arrived at lunchtime and by 2pm I was already creating with it, what a great kit!  Here is what I put together from my first impression of the kit (and yes, Alissa, I did use my stamp!).

Some detail shots...

Here is a link to the kit, I also dipped into my Crate Paper Notes and Things for the title stickers and the butterfly sticker.  The gold scalloped border is from Pebbles Home+Made.

Scraplifting yourself!

Today is my turn to issue a challenge at Memorable Seasons, and the challenge is for you to scraplift me!  I had the hardest time picking what layout to scraplift of myself because the lines I work with dictate what type of scrapping I do.  Some lines really pull out my fussy cutting, where other lines tend to inspire me to be artistic and get out paints and inks, OA's Be Merry line was more a streamlined approach for me and so I went looking for a layout in my gallery that had those qualities...

I chose a layout from my Jan 2012 kit when I was the GDT here at MS, how times change!
Here is the one from Jan 2012, http://www.memorableseasons.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=11487&ppuser=2796 I also have another one with the exact same design here,
http://www.memorableseasons.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=12739&ppuser=2796

And this is what I created from my lift - using the same design as my previous layout...

So my challenge for you is to scraplift the layout I chose and see where it takes you!  Stop on by the forum and play along, you have until Dec 31st to complete this challenge.

Be Merry - October Afternoon style

This month I received the October Afternoon Be Merry collection to work with at Memorable Seasons.  I was thrilled to work with a fun Christmas collection after already using my more formal pictures with the amazing traditional colored Once Upon a Christmas line with LYB.

I have created so much with my kit and only have a few pieces left.  Here is one of the layouts I created for our MOTM challenge of Louise...

I love how this layout turned out the perfect amount of layering and white space.  The Studio Calico frames are my favorite product every I do believe!

Here are two more layouts I created for a bonus challenge at Memorable Seasons to mix your new collections with older pieces...

Both of these layouts were created with OA's Be Merry and the background papers were older OA lines from awhile ago.

This also had some of my new Pebbles Seen & Noted collection added in, totally loving that one!

So glad you stopped by, see you later this week!

Creating...

from the heart.  I love when I just see a picture and paper and know that they have to go together!  That is what happened with this one.  I had my Feb Burlap & Buttercups kit sitting out and loved the chevron paper and the pinkish paper and then I was flipping through my pictures and saw this and then it became this!

Materials Used:  Crate Paper, October Afternoon, Tattered Angels, The Twinery
I just received my DT kit from Memorable Seasons that included some Cosmo Cricket, again flipping through my pictures that still needed to be scrapped and I hit some pictures from my little boys baby dedication that just screamed for some blue, yellow and wood...

Materials Used:  Martha Stewart, Cosmo Cricket, Jillibean Soup, Jenni Bowlin, October Afternoon, Crate Paper, gesso
And then I set them both up to admire and realized that they were the same design!  So I created this sketch to share with you because obviously it is working for me right now!  LOL

Here is the sketch I created:
If you happen to create something using my sketch please stop by and let me know I'd love to see it!

Time for some Burlap & Buttercups inspiration

So I finally had some time to play with my February kit from Burlap & Buttercups - love these kits, you really should check them out!  I stole a few pieces of papers for some other projects (and can't quite remember where they ended up), but these came directly out of the box as is...

First, my style - I have come to the peaceful conclusion that I am a simple scrapper that adores customizing each layout to the subject!  You know how awesome that is to finally know and be okay with my style!  No more fitting in, just lovely scrapping that makes me happy.  So let me show you what that means:

Here is the sketch that I drew up in January for Memorable Seasons Sketch-a-Thon:
Pretty simple right?  Now here is how I interpreted it today,
Materials Used:  Lily Bee, American Crafts, October Afternoon, Melissa Frances, MME, stickles, Cosmo Cricket
Still the same simple layout, but I decided I wanted to be vintagey when I made this layout so I added those type of touches (frame, doily, dress pattern, rose sticker, etc...) and dressed up my simple layout.  So my advice to you is find your style and then stick with it; that doesn't mean you can't follow the trends, but allow them to become yours don't remake yourself.  Believe me, you have never seen a more trend/technique junkie than myself - but process each new thing to see how it fits, kinda like trying on new shoes!  :)

Next, I loved these Basic Grey papers that were in January's kit (I know a little behind) and so I created this:
Materials Used:  The Twinery, Basic Grey, MM, Maya Rd, Martha Stewart, tissue paper
I have been struggling with days that just don't go well and getting so upset because it didn't meet my expectations.  So this says, Today is the perfect day for me!  I have gotten so bogged down with my schedule and my plans that I had forgotten that God created each day for us to enjoy - it is almost like he made the day and wrapped it up and gave us the present.  But what have I been doing with that present?  Have I been opening it up and truly enjoying all that was included or have I just left my present (day) wrapped because it didn't fit my plans?

So I encourage you open your present - enjoy the life God has planned for you and be yourself - it is wonderfully freeing!
